Raghavendra Rathore
Raghavendra Rathore (born October 7, 1976, Jodhpur, India), is an Indian fashion designer, best known for making his signature bandhgala a staple in men's wardrobes, not just in India, but on a global level[1]. He is a descendant of Rao Jodha[2], founder of Jodhpur and comes from a royal lineage stretching back 1,200 years[3].

Early Life
Family background and Childhood
Raghavendra Rathore, born and raised in Rajasthan, is a member of the royal family of Jodhpur. He is the son of Maharaj Swaroop Singh and a cousin of Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur.
Raghavendra Rathore has often reminisced about his childhood as a time when he was keenly aware of the reality of his surroundings, despite being from a royal family himself. Since his father was an MLA from Luni tehsil, Rathore accompanied him on several trips in a jeep, where they would go on official visits, in the punishing Rajasthani heat. Rathore describes his upbringing as modest, saying that these visits introduced him to a changing India, shaping his aesthetic in many ways.[4]

In 1986, Raghavendra Rathore went to the United States to study art and design at Marlboro College in Vermont and then to Parsons School of Design in New York. Brand Raghavendra Rathore started out with menswear, but soon ventured into other fields of design, namely, designing uniforms, menswear, womenswear, kids clothing, exclusive jewellery lines, swanky interiors, signature furniture lines, signature chocolates, a carpet line, and limited edition packaging for various brands.
The brand portfolio also boasts of designing costumes for movies, exquisite wedding design solutions, customized men's jewellery, gun case design, custom pocket squares, shoes, belts, custom-printed pocket squares and shirts. RR Jodhpur has also branched out into ready to wear with its pret brand RR Blue.

- Art: Raghavendra Rathore enjoys art.[12] He even, once, sold an art piece at the AmfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) gala outside of New York. Rathore's piece was flanked by artworks of Calvin Klein on one side and the world-famous artist Christo on the other side and it still sold for a great price. Rathore's piece was called “Be Still My Beating Heart” – a line taken from a song by Sting. His artwork had a transistor stuck to the wall and Rathore fondly recalls that price this piece sold for is the single-most encouraging moment of his life.[13]
- Painting: Rathore painted a lot as well. Even though painting is his passion, about five of Rathore's works have been commissioned by discreet buyers for their walls.[14]
- Vintage cars: Like his love for all things vintage, Rathore doesn't shy away from his fascination for vintage cars. Rathore has often been spotted at vintage car rallies in Jodhpur. Some spectacular vintage car rallies in Jodhpur have been followed by fashion shows by Rathore.[15]
Charity
Founded by Raghavendra Rathore, the RR Foundation aims to empower the underprivileged, incubate designers and establish NFT Fund Raising.[16]
Gurukul School of Design
Founded by Raghavendra Rathore, the school, located in Jaipur, is the designer's way of giving back to society, and nurturing talent in a wholesome manner.[17]
