Rahul Narain Kanal (also known as Rahool N Kanal[1], born 25 September 1985) is an Indian politician and social worker associated with the Shiv Sena[2][3][4][5] in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He started his political career with Yuva Sena[6][7][8]. He was the first elected District President[9][10] of Yuva Sena[11][12][13] in Mumbai and became the youngest Vice President of the District Yuva Sena Committee. [14]
Controversies
In 2022, the Income Tax Department raided Kanal’s properties in connection with alleged hawala links to BMC[15][16][17][18] Standing Committee Chairman Yashwant[19] Jadhav[20][21][22]. BJP MLA Nitesh Rane[23][24][25][26] made allegations against Kanal linking him to the Disha Salian[27][28][29] and Sushant Singh Rajput[30] cases[31][32][33][34], which Kanal denied and filed a defamation suit in response.[35][36]
On 30 June 2023, the Shiv Sena suspended Yuva Sena office-bearers from Bandra West[37][38][39][40], including Kanal. He criticised the decision publicly.[41][42][43][44]
