RailReview
RailReview is a quarterly, subscription-only magazine for British railway industry professionals, published by Bauer Consumer Media Ltd. It is based in Peterborough, and as of January 2023, edited by Nigel Harris[update].[1][2] The first issue was published in the third quarter (Q3) of 2014.[3]
The magazine has an editorial board, chaired by Sir Michael Holden, which "meets quarterly to discuss the content of the previous issue and to debate current focus points in the industry that warrant exploration in the next issue". The board also includes the chairman of Network Rail, Lord Peter Hendy.[2]
In a 2019 book on UK transport policy, the authors of the opening chapter noted in their conclusion that "all too often" governments "had not done enough to address the real point of what transport policy is for and why it matters", but that the front cover of the Q3 2027 issue of RailReview had "more-or-less hit the nail on the head".[4] In a 2021 discussion paper published by the Serco Institute on the challenges facing the UK rail industry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the authors drew attention to the views expressed by Sir Michael Holden in the editorial from the Q4 2020 issue.[5][6]
