Rajeev Kumar Chauhan is a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)[1], USA. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from The Institutions of Engineers (India)[2] in 2007. He received his M. Tech degree (2009) from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar,[3] and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi.[4]
Research Contribution
During his Ph.D. degree, he received the Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy Fellowship Award from the Indo-U. S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Government of India [5] to work on microgrid systems at the center for electromechanics at the University of Texas at Austin USA, where he closely worked with the Pecan Street Microgrid project of University of Texas. Later he developed a Multi-terminal DC microgrid at Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi which provides easy interconnection to renewable energy resources and electric vehicles; moreover, it decreases the number of conversion stages and optimizes the energy consumption, power losses in the lines, and converter. This work was selected as Best Ph.D. Thesis Award in IEEE UPCON-2017 [6] and POSOCO Power System Award (PPSA-2017) from Power System Operation Corporation (POSOCO), A Government of India Enterprise and Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi.[7]. Later he developed a DC Micrgord for a residential building project at Indian Institute of Technology in Mandi which optimizes the energy consumption and power losses in the house for which he received 2nd prize (Energy Category) in EEE IAS CMD Humanitarian Project Contest 2017 held in Cincinnati in USA.[8] and Excellent Oral Presentation Award in 4th International Conference on Power and Energy System (ICPES-2014), Singapore.[9]
Work Experiences
After completing his Ph.D. degree he joined Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) and guided a B.Tech student team to Design of Droop Control Based Real-Time Battery Management System for Automated DC Microgrid project for which the project team won first prize in IEEE IAS CMD Myron Zucker Undergraduate Student Design Contest 2019 at Baltimore in Maryland, the United States.[10] In 2018 he joined the [School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering] at the University of Manchester in United Kingdom as Research Scientist.[11] In 2019, Dr. Chauhan is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra.[12] and lecturer of IEEE IAS Young Professional and CMD Alumni].[13] He has worked as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) at the Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology Greater Noida, India (2017-2019).[14] He received the Amity Emerging Global Academician Award for an exemplary contribution towards the expansion of the boundaries through various publications and well-reputed research books at the International Conference on Automation, Computational and Technology Management (ICACTM 2019), London, April 23-26, 2019.[15]. In 2020 he joined the IEEE students branch and student branch WIE affinity group at the Dayalbagh Educational Institute Agra as Counselor and advisor. [16]

Dr. Rajeev Kumar Chauhan and Dr. Kalpana Chauhan edited their first book Distributed Energy Resources in Microgrids: Integration, Challenges, and Optimization, 1st Edition, Elsevier, May 2019.[17] This book can be found in 135 libraries in 26 countries.[18]. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Chauhan edited his second book Microgrids for Rural Areas: Research and case studies, with Dr. Kalpana Chauhan and Dr. Sri Niwas Singh, which was published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology in August 2020.[19][20] This book can be found in 544 libraries in 26 countries globally.[21]. The first edition of his third book Image Processing Methods for Automatic Diagnosis of Cardiac Disease was published by Elsevier in August 2021.[22]
