Rangachakua Higher Secondary School (RHSS) is a public Higher Secondary School in Rangachakua village[1] of Jamugurihat region in the Indian state of Assam. Founded in 1959[2] as Rangachakua Middle English School by some of the renowned personalities like Sonaram Das and Pravuram Karki. It is one of the oldest institution of learning in the North Bank region and among the most prestigious in Jamugurihat region.

Early[edit]
In its early years Rangachakua ME School primarily trained local population. Its curriculum and teaching methodology were gradually aligned to state education board Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA)[3] during the early 80s, and by the 70s. It had emerged as the central educational establishment among north Jamuguri's elites, but still funded locally as a venture school, the teachers were providing their purely as a voluntary manner.
Provincialisation[edit]
The Assam state government authorized RHSS's funding in 1988.[citation needed][clarification needed]
Addition of new class[edit]
In 1992, class 9 and 10 was added and in the year of 1998 Higher Secondary section of Arts streams were added to the school and its name changed into Rangachakua Higher Secondary School.[citation needed] For this purpose New Post Graduate teachers were appointed in the school.
