Rapyd is a global payments and fintech platform launched in 2016. The company specialises in digital payments and payouts and white-label financial services for E-commerce websites, mobile application developers, and other fintechs.[1][2][3]

The company is headquartered in London and has offices in the US, Israel, Netherlands and Singapore. As of January 2021, it is valued at $2.5 billion and has about 270 employees.[4][5][6]

Rapyd was founded in 2016 as a consumer-facing e-wallet called CashDash with the vision of reducing fees for international travelers withdrawing cash from ATMs abroad. The first e-wallet application was launched in 2017. In 2018, the company pivoted to service B2B customers and started developing its APIs to allow other businesses access its network in exchange for transaction fees.[7][8][9]

Rapyd was co-founded by three people: CEO Arik Shtilman, VP of R&D and CTO Arkady Karpman, and VP of SMB & Startups Omer Priel (previously VP of Corporate Development).[10][11]

Rapyd has 16 investors. The company has raised $470 million in 4 funding rounds.[12][13][14][15][16][17][18]

In February 2019, the company announced that it raised $40 million in its Series B led by General Catalyst and Stripe.[19]

In October 2019, Rapyd raised $100 million in a Series C round led by Oak HC/FT with Tiger Global, Coatue, General Catalyst, Stripe and others.[20][21]

In December 2019, $20 million were invested by Durable Capital partners.[22]

On January 13, 2021, the company raised $300 million in a Series D round led by Coatue.[23][24][25]

Partnerships and acquisitions[edit]

In October 2019, Rapyd partnered with Mastercard and obtained an issuing license.[26]

In February 2020, the company announced a partnership with Visa.[27]

In April 2020, 2020 Rapyd acquired a payment service provider KORTA.[28][29][30][31][32][33]
