Humaans, Inc. is an American technology company that develops cloud-based SaaS human resources information system (HRIS). The company is headquartered in London, United Kingdom.

History

Humaans was founded in 2020 by two founders with a background in product design and engineering. The CEO, Giovanni Luperti met his co-founder and CTO while working as Director of Product Design at Qubit. Karolis Narkevicius held the role of Director of Product Engineering at the time.[1] The two co-founders had previously started a digital product agency named Zero Technology, before launching Humaans.[1]

Admitted to Y Combinator in 2021, the company announced a US$5 million Seed Round receiving backing from Y Combinator [2], Moonfire Ventures, Frontline Ventures. The round also involved business angels Jeff Weiner (former CEO of LinkedIn), Dylan Field (CEO of Figma) and Scott Belsky (former CPO of Adobe Inc.).[1]

In October 2022, Humaans raised a US$15 million Series A round led by Lachy Groom with participation from Stewart Butterfield (founder of Slack (software)) and Tobias Lütke (CEO of Shopify). By 2025, it was reported that the company’s clients included AI native technology companies such as Lovable, Poolside AI and Quantexa. [3] [4]

Products

Humaans is an HRIS platform that functions as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product. The HRIS helps employers centralize all their employee data and information and also supports automating and streamlining processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and leave management.[5]

People in the industry have classified Humaans as part of a new group of HR Tech companies that are offering alternatives to legacy systems such as Workday, Inc. for mid-market companies and growing organizations.[6][7]
