Rare Futures (formerly Happy Body Slow Brain) is a progressive R&B/Rock, or self-described "GrooveRock" band from New York, NY and San Jose, CA.

Their self-released debut record, Dreams of Water, recorded with producer Marc Jacob Hudson, was released on September 21, 2010.[1] This was followed by the Sleepy EP (featuring B-Sides and Acoustic Tracks), which was digitally released in summer of 2012.

History

Formation and Dreams of Water (2010)

Happy Body Slow Brain was started in late 2007 as a side-project of Fazzi's during his tenure with Bay Area prog-rockers, Facing New York.

On March 31, 2010, Matthew Fazzi and bassist Matthew Rubano announced that they were no longer members of Taking Back Sunday, as the band had decided to reunite with its original line-up.[2][self-published source?] Soon after, Fazzi recruited former Taking Back Sunday touring guitarist Isaac Bolivar, and reworked a collection of songs he had written before and during his tenure with Taking Back Sunday.[3][not in citation given] Fazzi then enlisted drummer Eduardo Torres for their debut album, Dreams of Water. The album was released digitally through the band's website on September 21, 2010.[4][not in citation given]

Sleepy EP (2012)

On June 22, 2012, the band released the Sleepy EP via digital download from their website. The EP, which features unreleased B-Sides and acoustic renditions of Dreams Of Water songs, was mostly self-produced and recorded by the band.

In September 2012, the band returned to Michigan with Marc Jacob Hudson to begin recording the follow-up to 2010's Dreams Of Water.

LIVE EP (2014-Present)

In April 2014, the group released the LIVE EP, which is an eight-song extended play that was recorded in January 2012.[5][self-published source?]

This Is Your Brain on Love (2016)

On March 25, 2016, Rare Futures released their second LP titled This Is Your Brain on Love, containing 13 tracks. It is the first release under the name Rare Futures.
