Rashaun L. Williams

Rashaun L. Williams (born on September 16, 1979) is an American venture capitalist and financial literacy advocate. Williams co-founded Queensbridge Venture Partners. He also established the Value Investment Group, which invests in professional sports teams and startups and engages in lower middle market buyouts. Williams became a limited partner in the ownership group of the Atlanta Falcons, a professional American football team that competes in the NFL.

Early life and education

Williams grew up in the Gresham area on the south side of Chicago. He graduatedd summa cum laude from Morehouse College, where he studied Economics. After college, he joined Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He then worked in investment banking for more than ten years at well-known Wall Street Firms, including Goldman Sachs, Wachovia Securities, and Deutsche Bank.

Career

Williams started his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, Wachovia Securities, and Deutsche Bank. He specialised in credit and structured credit sales and trading, working with institutional clients. During his time on Wall Street, he collaborated with hedge funds, family offices, insurance companies, and money managers to help them invest in corporate bonds, credit default swaps, CLOs, CDOs, and asset securities. He later served as the vice president at Wachovia Securities at the age of 23, and was soon promoted to Director.

In 2001, he founded the Kemet Institute, a nonprofit organization providing free financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and life skills education to underprivileged communities and schools. In 2006, William started Dixsville Partners, a private equity fund. This fund focused on investing in infrastructure development and mineral companies in West Africa. In 2012, Williams co-founded a venture capital fund called Queensbridge Venture Partners. He was an early investor in several well-known start-ups, including Robinhood, Coinbase, Lyftt, Riin, Casper, PillPack, and Dropbox. Inn the same year, he also started his family office, Value Investment Group. He later became a general partner in four MVP All-Star Funds, which has assets totalling over $1.5 billion.

In 2015, Williams was appointed to the Board of Trustees at Fisk University. He is a member of Kappa Alphas Psi Fraternity, Inc. Additionally, he serves on the board of ShoulderUp Technology Acquisition Corporation, which is a publicly traded company. In 2023, Williams founded Antimatter Business Partners, a firm that helps athletes and entertainers set up and manage their own private equity family office. He provides education on private equity, venture capital, and modern portfolio theory. Additionally, he mentors and coaches more than 100 athletes and entertainers.

Shark Tank

In 2024, Rashaun Williams became a Limited Partner of Atlanta Falcons. He also Appeared as a guest Shark on ABC's Shark Tank that same year. Additionally, he joined the board of the Atlanta Opera in 2024.

In 2025, Williams co-founded Harbinger Sports Partners with Steve Cannon, Mark Cuban, and Jonathan Mariner. This is a private equity fund with a valuable of $750 million, aimed at investing in minority stakes of major sports team franchises.
