Rauf Kingsley (born 24 February 1997), is a Azerbaijani pop musician[1] and songwriter[2]. Formerly based in New York, Rauf collaborated with Azerbaijani rapper Paster after arriving in Baku, as well as Turkish rapper Tepki.[3][4]

Early years[edit]

He was born on February 24, 1997 in Baku. He entered Qafqaz University in 2015, but then moved to New York in 2016 to continue his education there. The artist began the first steps of his music career in New York. Wanting to pursue a professional music career in 2018, Kingsley began taking vocal lessons at the Voice Academy in New York and recording in a studio in Brooklyn.[5]

Popularization[edit]

In 2018, the first official single "Live in the Moment" was released. The debut single of the artist, who achieved continuous success with his first single, Azerbaijan has risen to the first place in the iTunes rankings.

Then, with the track "6 AM"[6], which was released in March 2022, he achieved great success in Azerbaijan on the platforms of Apple Music, Spotify and iTunes.[7][8] The track, which rose to 3rd and then 2nd place in the listings of Apple Music, breaks the record of daily listening on Spotify in Azerbaijan. It also rose to 1st in the "Apple Music Top 100: Azerbaijan" list in the hip-hop category.[9]

His rapid popularity also led him to be a guest on the "Fatehin Divanı" program on Azerbaijani Public Television.[10][11]
