Murilo Cenovicz is a brazilian artist and ophthalmologist. He currently lives in Ponta Grossa working in his medical office and focuses on the production of contemporary art canvases and murals, always using tapes, which bring the baggage of optical illusion studies in ophthalmology.
Biography[edit]
Cenovicz was born and raised in Ponta Grossa in Brazil. When he was 15 years old moved to Canada for one year. When he turned 16, he moved to Curitiba and at 17, he entered the medical university. In the third year of university he began to make his first artistic works with lines and ink pens, as a relaxation between studies.
In his residency studies in ophthalmology, he began to populate the walls of his room with abstracts that were taped together; in between his exhausting studies he made art with lines and pen as a relaxation. Cenovicz saw in tape an incredible material to work with and made a tape design on the only wall of his rooms that was clear of asbtracts.
The artist fell in love with the tape art technique and began a saga of various approaches. Starting with visionary art and then moving on to graffiti and muralism, he started to gain visibility in the social media platforms. With 6 years already on tape art world, today the artist focuses on the production of contemporary art canvases and murals, always using tapes, which bring the baggage of ophthalmology's optical illusion studies.
Cenovicz noticed the large number of admirers wanting to learn more about the technique of tape art and started a saga of workshops in the Brazilian territory, he has a private group where he advises students and recently created the first Tape Art E-Book [1] in history, where teaches your students about the entire world of tape art and how to produce their first tape designs.
Cenovicz's greatest influences are his studies in ophthalmology such as vision neurophysiology and optical illusions, as well as in art the fields of tape art, geometric art, optical art, digital art, visionary art, among other fields.
