Ravinder Gargesh is an Indian linguist. He is the head of the Department of English at Samarkand State University in Uzbekistan.[1]
Education
Gargesh attended Delhi University, where he obtained a BA in English (1970), an MA in English (1972), a Post MA Diploma in Linguistics (1976), an M.Litt. in Linguistics (1978), and a PhD in linguistics (1989).[1]
Career
Gargesh began his career in 1986 as a lecturer of linguistics at the University of Delhi. From 1987 to 1997, he was an associate professor in the department, and in 1997 became a full professor. He continued to teach linguistics at Delhi University until 2014.[1] He has been a visiting professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Seoul), Aligarh Muslim University (Aligarh), and Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi).[1]
Since 2019, he has served as Head of the Department of English at Samarkand State University.[1]
