Rayyan Hussein
Rayyan Hussein (born 18 February 1984) is a Nigerian politician, real estate developer, and philanthropist. He is the current Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Nigeria, having assumed office on 1 November 2024[1] He was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hussein was previously the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Istrom Dynamic Projects Limited,[2] and is the founder of the RayCare Foundation, a Kaduna-based NGO.[3]
Early life and education
Hussein was born on 18 February 1984 in Kaduna State, Nigeria. He attended New Breed Secondary School and Abubakar Gumi College in Kaduna. He obtained a B.Sc. in Physics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and later earned a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Kaduna State University in 2023.
Career
Hussein began his career at Brains & Hammers Limited, a Nigerian real estate firm,[4] where he served in multiple roles including Compliance Manager, Project Manager, and Head of Internal Audit. He contributed to major projects like the Kano Economic City and Brains & Hammers City.
In 2019, he became the Managing Director and COO of Istrom Dynamic Projects Limited, where he led real estate projects across residential and commercial sectors.[5]
Political career
Hussein is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In 2024, he was elected Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government Area. Prior to his election, he contested the 2023 House of Representatives seat for Kaduna South Federal Constituency. He also served as the Deputy Director-General of the Senator Uba Sani Support Group and as Zonal Coordinator (Zone 2) for the Tinubu–Uba Sani Campaign Council.[6]
As chairman, Hussein launched a toll-free public health hotline for residents of Kaduna South LGA.[7] In December 2024, he also led a local immunization drive against polio, supporting vaccine issuance to children in collaboration with state and health partners.[8] He has publicly commended state-wide welfare initiatives, including Eid support programs for vulnerable families.[9]
Philanthropy
Hussein is the founder and CEO of the RayCare Foundation, which focuses on free healthcare missions, education support, and youth and women empowerment in Kaduna South.[10] The foundation has organized outreach programs including free medical tests and school supplies for underprivileged communities.
Personal life
Hussein is married to Salma Abu Rayyan. They reside in Kaduna State and Abuja, Nigeria.
