"Real One" is a song recorded by American rapper Trina featuring Rico Love. It was released on March 3, 2015.[1] The single was serviced to US contemporary hit and rhythmic contemporary radio on March 17, 2015. Trina wrote "Real One" with Rico Love, Dwayne Nesmith, among other credited composers, including the main producers, a part of Earl & E: Earl Hood and Eric Goudy.

Trina raps about disloyalty in the track, while in the chorus Rico Love sings, "All she ever wanted was a real one, but that's so hard to find,". The song's official music video premiered on July 21, 2015. "Real One" debuted and peaked at number twenty-two on the US Billboard Hot 100, staying on the chart for three weeks.[2]. "Real One" was nominated for the HRR Award at the MP3 Music Awards.[3]

In November 2014, Trina announced her second studio album was titled 6 and set be released in the following year, along with a buzz track titled "Fuck Love" and the project's lead single titled "Real One".[4][5][6]

On March 3, "Real One" was simultaneously released to digital download on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon,[7][8] and streaming on Spotify, as well as YouTube.[9] The song also features guest vocals from Rico Love.[10][1] On July 20, 2015, Trina premiered a clip for the music video during the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta aftershow and also announced that she was working with Rico Love on her sixth album and also saying, "Yes I'm making a music video, it's called Real One featuring Rico Love, I am really excited about it! I'm working with Rico on my new album, I'm excited about that and he is amazing."[11]

Music video[edit]

The music video for "Real One" was exclusively released on VH1 on July 20, 2015, before being made available on other digital platforms the next day. It premiered after an episode of American reality television series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.[11]
