Real World Crypto Symposium is a conference for applied cryptography research, which was started in 2012 by Kenny Paterson and Nigel Smart and is organized by the IACR. The winner of the Levchin Prize is announced at RWC.

Publications[edit]

Some publications have been presented at the conference. Such as the first known prefix chosen prefix attack on SHA-1[1][2] and the announcement of end-to-end encryption in Facebook Messenger.[3]. Also, the introduction of the E4 chip took place at RWC.[4]. Flaws in messaging apps such as WhatsApp were also presented there.[5]
