Record Makers

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Record Makers is a French independent record label founded in Paris in 2000 by record industry executive Marc Teissier du Cros, musicians Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel (AIR) and Stéphane Elfassi (AIR’s manager).

In the early 2000's, the label became well known for its work in releasing notable film soundtracks such as the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola's debut film The Virgin Suicides and the previously unreleased soundtrack to John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13, and for developing the careers of influential artists Sebastien Tellier and Kavinsky.

In 2004, AIR left the label and the label became fully independent from their major distribution.[1] In 2010, the label celebrated their 10th anniversary[2]. In 2011, they released the official soundtrack to Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive, which included Kavinsky’s hit single ’Nightcall’.
