RedSeal Inc. or RedSeal is an American cybersecurity company founded in 2004 that provides companies with a simple metric for how effectively their current security measures are working to protect their network.[1]
History
RedSeal was founded in 2004. In 2006, they raised $14.6M in Series A funding from Venrock, Leapfrog Ventures, and Sutter Hill Ventures[2]
The company was later relaunched as RedSeal Inc. in 2014 with a new CEO, Ray Rothrock, and received $17 million in Series C funding the following year.[3][4] RedSeal's investors include:[5] Icon Ventures, In-Q-Tel, Leapfrog Ventures, OVP Venture Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures, Tyco International, Venrock and HighBAR Ventures
Originally founded as a firewall management company, it shifted its strategy and now provides a network vulnerability discovery appliance.[6]
Awards
In 2015, RedSeal was listed among Red Herring's Top 100 Global Winners[7] for influential technology startups and the Deloitte Fast 500 for the fastest growing technology companies.[8]
The company's Cybersecurity Analytics program won the Cyber Defense Magazine 2016 Infosec Award for the "Most Innovative - Network Security" category.[9] In the same year, the product "RedSeal 8.1" was awarded the Silver Award for Network Security and Management by the Infosecurity Products Guide[10]
