Red Platoon is an American war film that was in development as of 2018.
Plot[edit]
On Oct. 3, 2009, more than 300 Taliban fighters launched a predawn raid on Outpost Keating, a remote and controversial American outpost near the Afghan-Pakistani border, overrunning its perimeter defenses and breaching its wire. Staff Sgt. Romesha, a husband and father of three children, planned and led a small band of soldiers in a counterattack against seemingly insurmountable odds, saving dozens of American lives, and ultimately receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions.

Development[edit]
On January 22, 2016, Columbia Pictures acquired Clinton Romesha’s memoir “Red Platoon,” with Josh Bratman producing through his Immersive Pictures company[1] On August 29, 2017, Ben Affleck is in talks to direct, George Clooney and Grant Heslov are producing the film with Bratman and Adam Cozad is writing the script.[2] On December 5, 2017, Daniel Espinosa replaced Affleck as director.[3]
Casting[edit]
On October 24, 2018, Casey Affleck was in talks to star in the film, until he dropped out.[2]
