Red Roots are an American Christian country red-haired identical triplet sisters trio from Wade, Mississippi, who make bluegrass music with southern gospel. They started making music in 2010, with their first studio album, Red Roots, which was independently released by Red Hen Records in 2011. Their second release, The Middle of Nowhere, a studio album, was released in 2012 with Red Hen Records. The third studio album, Triplicity, was released in 2014 from Red Hen Records. Background
Red Roots are a Christian country identical red-haired triplet sister trio from Wade, Mississippi, where they were all born on March 18, 1991,[1] and they were raised in the church by their parents.[2] The sibling members are youngest, Nika Lea Taylor,[3] their lead vocalist and guitarist, the middle-child, Natalie Jean Taylor,[4] their high harmonies vocalist, keyboardist, violinist, bassist, and mandolinist, eldest sister, Nicole Helen Taylor,[5] their low harmonies vocalist, banjoist, guitarist, and drummer.[6][7]
Music history
The sister trio started as a musical entity in 2011,[8] with their first independently released album, Red Roots, which was released on January 24, 2011, with Red Hen Records.[9] Their subsequent studio album, The Middle of Nowhere, was released on March 20, 2012, by Red Hen Records.[10] They released Triplicity, the third studio album, on January 7, 2014, from Red Hen Records alongside Daywind Music.[11][12][13][14] The group was signed to Inpop Records in 2015, where they are working on an album to release sometime in 2016.[15]
