Red Wing Software was founded as Red Wing Business Systems in 1979, primarily as an agricultural software developer and distributor. As the company grew, it began to create and market additional accounting software products for other businesses.

History[edit]

In 2001, Red Wing Business Systems merged with Champion Business Systems and FMS/Harvest. Software products included in the company merger were Champion Controller Accounting, Profit and Profit Gold Accounting (Champion Business Systems), Perception Accounting Software (FMS/Harvest), AgCHEK, Red Wing DOS Accounting and Payroll, and Red Wing Windows Accounting and Payroll (Red Wing Business Systems).[1] In 2003, the merged company was purchased by the management team, and has since operated as Red Wing Software, Inc.

Today, Red Wing Software develops and distributes five products: CenterPoint Accounting Software, TurningPoint Accounting Software, CenterPoint Accounting Software for Agriculture, CenterPoint Fund Accounting Software, and CenterPoint Payroll Software.
