Repulsive Vision is an English death metal band from Barrow in Furness, England. Formed in 2010, the group consists of lead vocalist Daryl Boyce, guitarist and second vocalist Matthew Davidson, drummer Gary Young, and bassist Mark Kirby.[1]
History
Repulsive Vision was founded in Barrow in Furness, England in September 2010 by guitarist Matthew Davidson. There have been many incarnations of the group in the years prior to, and after their first release, a self-published EP called Severed Alive.[2] By 2015 the lineup of Dan McEwan, Gary Young (also of the NWOBHM band Avenger[3]), and Mark Kirby saw the group established firmly in the local metal scene.[4]
In 2017 the band signed to Danish independent label Mighty Music. The band’s debut album, Look Past The Gore And See The Art, was released in March 2017[5] and received favourable reviews.[6][7] In the years after release of their first album, the band increased their touring and performed numerous festivals including Vagos Metal Fest [1] and Nordic Noise festival.[8]
By 2020 the band had signed with Danish label Emanzipation Productions.[3] The band's second full-length studio album, Necrovictology, was released in August 2020.[9] The album featured guest appearances by Phil "Landphil" Hall and Max Otero (Municipal Waste, Mercyless)[10] and saw the band further develop their sound, incorporating a prominent thrash influence. [11]
In late 2020 Dan McEwan left the band and was replaced by Daryl Boyce of the Glasgow Death Metal band Scordatura.[12]
The band announced in 2020 that work had begun on a followup to Necrovictology.[13]
