Restaurant Bigwig is a restaurant building business simulation game by Bigwig Games. Restaurant Bigwig was made available for iPad on August 14, 2014.

The game, designed by Gary Hoover uses real industry data to simulate market conditions and reflect the actual restaurant industry.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

The game is a restaurant and business simulation where the player develops a restaurant empire with the goal of having the highest profits. The player is responsible for opening restaurants and allocating resources of staffing, marketing, and efficiency to further their development over 20, 40, and 60 year challenges. Players are dealt operations and expansion cards to allocate to their restaurant, open a new restaurant, or discard at the end of their turn. Discarded cards can be recycled and used by other players or traded to find more fitting resources.

Restaurant Bigwig uses a turn-based newspaper to update players on their progress, share news bits on their restaurants, and offer tips for improvement. The newspaper also contains real world restaurant industry facts and historic advertisements. Players can compete with each other on a single iPad or compete with artificial intelligence bots of different skill levels.[2]

Development[edit]

The game was first made available on August 14, 2014 for iPad.[3]

Restaurant Bigwig was originally designed by Gary Hoover and is the first of 100 planned business simulation games. It relies on real world restaurant industry data to shape the scope of the play experience.[4]
