Revak

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Revak (stylised as REVΔK) is a British rock band, formed in 2004. They are currently composed of Tyler Conway, Emma Hollister, Claire Meade and Brian Weston.

Background[edit]

2004-2014: Formation and early releases[edit]

The band formed in early 2004, when the five-piece were attending the same university, as an Aerosmith tribute band. This concept lasted mere months until Hollister and Weston began writing original music for the band to perform. The resulting material was released in 2005 as a hastily put together EP fittingly titled "We Didn't Think This Through", the EP was sold on CD at local venues around London where the band played. Matt Stone left the band shortly after the release of their first EP. Tyler Conway replaced him on drums.

The band's debut studio album "Cutting Corners" was released in June 2007, it would become their first material to be distributed online and reach a wider audience outside of their small fanbase in London. Following its release, the band's two EPs were also made available digitally. The band continued to play material from their debut EP and album for the next six years until they announced a hiatus in 2014, citing the members' desire to focus on their careers.

2016-Present: "Revaktion"[edit]

In February 2016 the band resumed playing live shows with the notable absence of bass guitarist Paul Schrieffer, who was later confirmed to have left the band. The group once again ceased touring in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and instead used their time to begin working on a second album. The album, titled "Revaktion" (stylized REVΔKTION), was released June 11, 2021, almost 15 years after the release of their debut album.
