Rewan Riko (born 29 October 1988), is a Danish-Kurdish singer-songwriter, record producer, musician, and entrepreneur.
History[edit]
Rewan Riko was born in Aarhus, Denmark, to Kurdish parents. Riko grew up in a musical family, as the son of the famous folk-lore singer Gare Sazkar.[1]
Inspired by his father and Danish songs and culture he formed the world pop band “Li dine” in 2009. He created his own genre Hemereng, which merges middle eastern notes with the popular sounds we know from the “west”.[2][3]
He worked with the Danish superstar DJ Morten Breum and Nik Jay[4] & produced for the Japanese superstar Koda Kumi, together with Che Pope, which is Head of A&R at Kanye West company GOOD Music.[5]
Riko is the CEO and owner of Denmark's songwriting and producer camp, Aarhus Calling. Musicians who have attended Riko’s camp are: Kara Diogardi, Cutfather, MNEK, Che Pope, Chelcee Grimes, and Jasmine Thompson.[6][7]
