Rhythm Wagholikar (born September 24, 1993) is an Indian author, talk show host, commentator, and reviewer known for his diverse contributions to fields such as literature, music, social welfare, and public relations. He is recognized for his innovative literary works, impactful talk shows, and advocacy for social causes.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Wagholikar was born to Anuradha and Sudhir Wagholikar in Nashik, Maharashtra, India, and raised in Pune. He pursued a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Studies, graduating from AISSMS College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Pune, in 2014. In recognition of his significant contributions to social work research, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Social Work.

  • Swarlata: A pioneering book shaped like a gramophone record, dedicated to the legendary Indian playback singer, Lata Mangeshkar. This anthology features contributions from 38 luminaries of the Indian subcontinent.[2]

Rhythm hosted a talk show on the renowned Social Worker Sindhu Tai Sapkal shedding light on the inspiring life of Sindhutai Sapkal. Through this platform, he delivered a powerful message on women empowerment to society, advocating for the upliftment and recognition of women’s roles and contributions.

  • Racahna - Creating Possibilities

Rhythm Wagholikar’s talk show, delving into the captivating tales of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, narrated by their niece Rachana Shah, captivated audiences and emerged as a resounding success. During the show, Lata Mangeshkar herself addressed the audience, sharing invaluable insights gleaned from her life’s challenges. She affectionately acknowledged Rhythm’s integral role in her life, underscoring his significance in her journey. The event not only entertained but also provided a platform for learning and reflection, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended. Recently, Rhythm embarked on a project to establish a world-renowned musical institute in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, with support from Indian Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.[7]

Gauri - The Urge to Fly Rhythm Wagholikar’s talk show, “Gauri: The Untold Story,” featuring the renowned transgender social activist Gauri Sawant, shed light on the profound challenges faced by transgender individuals in society. The show courageously tackled themes of adversity, resilience, and the ongoing struggle for acceptance and equality. By providing a platform for Gauri Sawant to share her experiences and advocate for transgender rights, the show not only raised awareness but also fostered empathy and understanding among viewers. It served as a poignant reminder of the importance of compassion and inclusivity in creating a more just and equitable society.[8]

  • Coffee At The St.James Court

An insightful discussion over coffee took place between Rhythm Wagholikar and the renowned former Prime Minister of India, Shri. Deve Gowda, at the St. James Court London. The conversation centered on the significance of fostering strong Indo-foreign relationships, highlighting the pivotal role such alliances play in global diplomacy and cooperation. Through this engaging exchange, attendees gained valuable insights into the intricacies of international relations and the importance of dialogue and collaboration in addressing shared challenges and opportunities on the global stage.[9]

  • Meeting the Peoples President- Shri Pranab Mukherjee

In 2017, Rhythm Wagholikar, accompanied by his brother Aashay Wagholikar, had the privilege of meeting the esteemed former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee. This encounter proved to be a significant moment, highlighting themes of leadership, focus, and the power of meaningful relationships. Over the course of their meeting, the conversation seamlessly intertwined with the universal language of music, underscoring its ability to foster connection and understanding.[10][11]

Rhythm had the honor of presenting President Mukherjee with the inaugural Rachana Rhythm’s Creating Possibilities Momento, symbolizing appreciation for his leadership and contributions to society. The meeting not only served as a testament to the importance of building bridges between individuals from diverse backgrounds but also underscored the value of fostering meaningful connections through shared experiences and mutual respect.[12]

Wagholikar's sand art biographies, created in collaboration with Rachana Shah, have received acclaim for their innovative approach to storytelling. Notable works include "Swarlata: Ek Alokik Gatha" and "Swar-Raj," celebrating the lives of Lata Mangeshkar and Shri Raj Thackeray, respectively.[13]

Recognition and awards[edit]

Wagholikar's contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards nationally and internationally, including the Femina Most Powerful of the Year 2018-2019 and the Mahatma Gandhi Samman, presented at the House of Commons. He is the youngest Indian to receive the Mahatma Gandhi Award, conferred for his achievements and contributions to worthy causes.[14]
