Ricardo Milos is a Brazilian adult model who is known for his dance in a video of him wearing an American flag thong and red bandana. His dance inspired a series of MAD/hand-drawn animated videos on the Japanese video sharing site Nico Nico Douga(NND) in mid-to-late 2011 that helped to establish Milos as a Gachimuchi/wrestling series character.

Ricardo's website, ricardomilos.net, has been turned into a website selling Japanese health care products and has since become defunct.

Early life and Career[edit]

Ricardo Milos (November 11, 1977) born in Rio, Brazil. He is mixed, with both Brazilian and Irish heritage. However, he and his brother are adopted, with a Greek father and a Canadian mother. Ricardo is 5 foot and 8 inches tall, he weighs 190 pounds. Ricardo has been working for over 10 years and his father is a professional photographer who taught him how to take good photos as well as how to pose in photos.[1]

Internet fame[edit]

2010[edit]

Ricardo Milos' dancing video was originally published on an English gay porn site called "Jock Butt." It was uploaded to NND as a Gachimuchi/wrestling series video on October 15th, 2010 and has since received over 500,000 views since being uploaded. Milos' charisma and alluring dance in the video caught the attention of Gachimuchi fans and he soon became a recurring character in the Gachimuchi series. He was nicknamed ロナウ自慰ニョ(Ro nau jii nyo, "自慰" jii means "masturbation" in Japanese) by NND users due to his wearing a bandana evoking the Brazilian football player Ronaldinho. The jii in Milos' nickname came before Ronaldinho's nude video was leaked.[2][3]

2018[edit]

In mid-to-late 2018, people online began using Milos’ dancing video in bait-and-switch videos in reaction to TikTok's rising popularity at the time. Ricardo Milos at the time was all ready popular among Russian speaking imageboards[4] but due to conflict with TikTok fans a rivalry between the two groups emerged spawning much of the new content.

Notable instances[edit]

The trigger of the Danced like a Butterfly (蝶のように舞いーニョ, Chou No You Ni Maiinyo) fad was a video titled "Dancing like a Butterfly,” which reproduced Milos’ dance with a hand drawn animation of Yuyuko Saigyouji, a character from Touhou Project. The video was uploaded to NND on July 14th, 2011 and featured the song "Butterfly (Upswing Mix)," a song by Swedish pop group Smile.dk known for being included in the Dance Dance Revolution series. The Dancing Like a Butterfly video got 1st rank in the NND daily video ranking and has received over 850,000 views.
