Storming of The Capitol[edit]

According to a federal criminal complaint filed the day after the attack, Barnett, of Gravette, Arkansas unlawfully entered the Capitol, entered Pelosi's office, and sought to disrupt the orderly conduct of official government business.[2] On February 2nd, Barnett was indicted on five additional charges including theft of property from Pelosi's office[3]. Evidence in the case is based largely on photographs, published to social media, which show Barnett in the Speaker's office on January 6th. Barnett turned himself in to FBI agents at the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in Bentonville, Arkansas, on January 7th.[4]

Also according to the complaint, Barnett recorded a video, later uploaded to social media, in which he is asked about an envelope he is holding, which appears to have come from Speaker Pelosi's office, Barnett replies: "“I did not steal it. I bled on it because they were macing me and I couldn’t fucking see so I figured I am in her office. I got blood on her office. I put a quarter on her desk even though she ain’t fucking worth it. And I left her a note on her desk that says “Nancy, Bigo was here, you Bitch.”[5]

On February 5th, 2021 Barnett pled not guilty to all charges and is being held without bail pending trial.[6]
