Richard Sinden(Born 8 February 1979 in Maidstone,United Kingdom Currently living in Perth,Australia, is an English former footballer who started his career as a striker with Nottingham Forest before moving to Aston Villa. Injury curtailed Sinden's professional career but lead to a successful semi professional career.

Biography[edit]

Sinden began his career at the age of 13 with Nottingham forest, signing as an associate schoolboy at 14 and turning professional in 1995. Sinden never broke into the first team and appearances in the reserve team were plagued with injury resulting in the club releasing him during the 1996-97 season. A surprise move to Aston Villa followed before an injury recurrence cut his time short. Sinden joined Sittingbourne FC[3] in the Southern League Premier Division, however, a potential route back into the professional game presented itself and Sinden opted for a move to Dundalk playing in the professional League of Ireland Premier League[4] debuting against Finn Harps[5]. Due to the club entering financial difficulties and with no return to the football league on the cards Sinden found himself back in Kent where he enjoyed a long career in the non-league game. During his time in the English non league he was known as prolific goal scorer earning the Kent League Golden boot in the 2002-2003 season while playing for Maidstone United[6]. Winning a number of league and cup honours, Sinden's career culminated in a Wembley appearance in the FA Vase final for Tunbridge Wells in their 2-1 loss against Spennymoor Town FC in the FA Vase Final in 2013.[7][8]

Richard moved to Perth,Australia late in 2017 with his wife and three children where he qualified[9] as a coach[10] and is still involved in the game.
