r soos (born Richard Soos, April 24, 1955[1]) is an American poet. Soos worked as a musician, a carpenter and a teacher before his retirement in 2016. He now resides in Joshua Tree, California. Best known for his micropoetry, Soos's work has appeared in over 30 books and more than 400 literary magazines.

Poetry Editor[edit]

Soos started Realities Library in 1973. Realities Library was a non-profit small press which published books, and the monthly magazine Seven Stars Poetry[2], which Soos edited until 1998.[3] After retirement Soos returned to his first career and started Cholla Needles Arts & Literary Library, a non-profit small press.[4] He now publishes books of poetry, as well as the monthly literary magazine Cholla Needles.[5]
