Rick Tedesco, also known as Richard James Tedesco (born 12/02/1960), is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer-songwriter most known for his work with Ian Hunter and Alice Cooper as well as the original members of the Alice Cooper Group. In 2000, he worked with Ian Hunter on songs for his upcoming 2001 album "Rant" and is credited with playing guitars and backing vocals. During this time, he also found and rescued Mick Ronson's famous 1968 stripped Les Paul Custom from the Hard Rock Cafe in Australia and put it on display in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. In 2000, he is credited with mixing several songs on Ian Hunter's 2 CD compilation album titled "Once Bitten Twice Shy". He appeared in the 2002 book "Mick Ronson, The Spider with the Platinum Hair" by Weird and Gilly. In 2001, he helped mix the BDS (Bouchard Dunaway and Smith) album "Back From Hell". In 2003, he mastered the BDS live album "BDS Live in Paris". In 2005, he partnered up with Dennis Dunaway from the Alice Cooper Group and started working on tracks for an album titled "Bones from the Yard" released in 2006 by the then-titled band "The Dennis Dunaway Project". He is credited with guitars, lead and background vocals, and co-writer on several songs as well as engineer and producer. He continued to work with Dennis writing and touring until 2009. Also in 2006, he appeared on Mainman records’ Spinal Tap tribute album "This Aint Spinal Tap" playing guitar and singing "Big Bottom" with the Dennis Dunaway Project. The song was also included on their 2008 hair metal tribute album Hair Apparent. In 2007, he began working with Ian Hunter on his album "Shrunken Heads" and is credited as engineer and played piano on the song "Stretch". Also in 2007, he appeared on the Mainman tribute record for David Bowie Hero where he performed "Moonage Daydream" with the Dennis Dunaway Project. This album was re-released as a limited edition vinyl album in 2020. He was back with Ian Hunter in 2009 working on his next album "Man Overboard" and is credited with backing vocals. From 2010 to 2011, he worked on his solo album titled "A Light in the Attic" where he wrote, sang, played guitar, bass, keys, and synths as well as engineered and produced. Also in 2010, he appeared on the Mainman Record Queen tribute compilation album "Horse Feathers And Animal Crackers" where he sang and played all instruments (except drums) on 2 tracks, "Stone Cold Crazy" and "She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettoes)". Also in 2010, he appeared on the Mainman album Remember The Coop! A tribute to Alice Cooper performing the Alice Cooper track "Big Apple Dreaming" playing all instruments (except drums) and singing. In 2011, he performed with Alice Cooper when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singing background vocals for 3 songs at the ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. In 2012, he is credited with guitar on Ian Hunter's album "When I'm President". In 2014, he worked with Alice Cooper drummer Neal Smith on his third Killsmith album entitled "Killsmith and the Greenfire Empire" where he was credited as engineer, guitars, and background vocals. They are currently in the studio working on Neal's 4th Killsmith installment. Also in 2014, he released an album with songwriting partner Kevin Hupp under the name Psycho Merchants where he wrote, played guitar, and sang background vocals as well as co-engineered. In 2016, he appeared on Carrie Ashton's album "Invincible" as a guitarist. In 2020, he worked with Neal Smith on his album "POP 85/95" and is credited as engineer. He was brought in to track guitars for Alice Cooper’s February 2021 album "Detroit Stories" where he appears on 2 tracks, "Social Debris" and "I Hate You" with the original band credited as guitarist. In late 2020, he was asked to work with Mike Garson for his upcoming 3 hour concert live stream "A Bowie Celebration, Just for one Day", a multi-artist tribute of David Bowie’s songs to be aired on January 8th, 2021, David Bowie’s birthday. He is credited as guitars, background vocals, and engineer for 2 songs performed by Ian Hunter: "Dandy," Ian’s 2016 tribute to the late Bowie, and "All the Young Dudes," the hit song Bowie gave to Mott the Hoople back in 1974.[1]
