Rider Levett Bucknall UK Ltd (commonly abbreviated as RLB) is a British multinational construction and property consultancy. The company provides project management, cost management, quantity surveying, building surveying, and specialist consulting.[1]

History[edit]

The company was established in 2007 as a merger between Rider Hunt, Levett & Bailey, and Bucknall Austin. Rider Hunt & Partners (British construction and engineering company founded in 1895) partnered with Levett & Bailey (Hong Kong quantity surveying firm founded in 1962) in 1972,[2] before a further merger with Bucknall Austin (British consultancy founded in 1947) in 2007 established RLB as the company it is today.[3]

Other key acquisitions include Honolulu-based Construction Services Limited in 1991, Philippines-based Rider Hunt Liacor in 1995, Toronto-based CRSP Cost Consultants in 2014,[4] and Mauritius-based Hooloomann & Associates in 2018.[5]

Rider Levett Bucknall employs 4,000 staff in 40 countries worldwide and has provided services in numerous sectors including aviation, education, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, residential, retail, and sport.[6] The company was ranked the #1 global cost consultant partner for three consecutive years by Building Design between 2016 and 2018[7] and has 22 affiliate firms.[8]
