Rimantas Miknius (born in Pasvalys on 2 October 1950) is a businessman, Chairman of the Board of UAB “Mikotelgroup”[1].
Biography[edit]
In 1957-1958 attended Pasvalys Secondary School, in 1958-1961 attended Secondary School No. 4 of Panevėžys, in 1961-1967 attended Secondary School No. 6 of Panevėžys, in 1968 started studying in Kaunas Polytechnic Institute and graduated from it in 1973, gaining Engineer's Qualification. In 1973-1976 worked as engineer in institution “Buitis” in Panevėžys providing household services to the community; in 1976-1984 worked as Chief and Leading Engineer in the Ministry of Household Services of Lithuania; in 1984-1988 worked as Inspector in Control Committee; in 1988-1989 worked as Assistant to the Minister of Household Services of Lithuania; in 1989-1991 worked as Deputy Director of Exhibition Hall “Litexpo”; in 1991-1995 worked as General Manager of hotel “Lietuva”; in 1995-1999 was General Manager of hotel “Centrum”; in 2000-2004 was Manager of hotel “Holiday Inn”, and from 2004 has been working as CEO of UAB “Mikotelgroup”[2] (hotels “Mikotel” and “Panorama”). Contributed in design, construction and management works related to hotels “Centrum”, “Holiday Inn”, “Comfort Vilnius”, “Mikotel”, “Panorama”[2]. Member of Song and Dance Ensemble “Nemunas” of Kaunas Polytechnic Institute (1968-1973); President of Association of Lithuanian Hotels[2] (1993-2000); Member of Vilnius Rotary Club[3] (1991-2008); Member of Saint Christopher Rotary Club[4] (2000-2004).

Medal “For the merits to the Lithuanian Tourism” awarded by the State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania (2005); Special award for the book “Viešbučių valdymas” granted by the State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania (2007); Badge of Honour “For special merits to the Lithuanian tourism” awarded by the State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania (2018).
