Riot Ready Records (often referred to as Riot Ready) is an independent record label owned and operated by Fortunate Fall and Dr. Ghost frontman and guitarist Wesley Richards. Originally called Electrodeath Records before a 2016 rebranding, the label has been active in the Inglewood[1] and the greater Los Angeles area setting up shows, compilations[2], establishing collectives and providing space and a platform for local underground bands. Since the label's inception most acts signed to the label were punk, grindcore/powerviolence, death metal and other variousmetal sub-genres, but more recently the label has ventured into other indie music genres such as electronic music and indie rock.
The label is known for its DIY ethos as well as its anarchist leanings[3], and has been involved in a number of local, state level and nationwide activist movements and organizations. Riot Ready puts together regular compilations of underground bands and artists, using the releases to raise money for various organizations such as Rest for Resistance, Dignity and Power Now[4], Reform LA Jails, Pawsitive Change Prison Program, etc.[5]
