Ripple Tea
Ripple Tea is a brand of tea owned by Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company, an independent tea-trading and manufacturing company in India. The company launched the “Ripple Tea” brand in 2010 in order to enter into the consumer branded tea segment.
History
The Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company was established [1] in 2005 following the exit of Tata Tea from its plantations in Munnar. Tata Tea Ltd restructured and transferred its holdings to the Kanan Devan Hills village under participatory management, [2] KDHP launched its consumer brand Ripple Tea in 2010 [3] for distribution in retail outlets across Munnar, Kerala, but remains primarily a B2B player,[4]
Ecommerce Operations
Ripple Tea products are available at [5] . The E-commerce portal was launched in 2015 for distribution across India.
Retail outlet operations
The company ventured into branded retail outlets in 2018 with the launch of 3 Chai Bazar Outlets in Munnar, Kerala.[6] These were further expanded in 2019 under the franchise model with the opening of an outlet in Kumily (Kerala, India) [7]. All Ripple Tea products are available at these outlets.
