Ritesh S Kumar (born 1 January 1985) is an Indian Editor, Director, and Producer who is known for his work in Hindi Cinema.[1] Ritesh S Kumar made his directorial debut in Bollywood with the movie Mridang for which he received the Best Director Award at the Indian Film Festival, presented to him by Poonam Dhillon on stage. The movie is inspired by a true story and revolves around superstitions and modern life. [2]
He recently released Bulletpen, a web series on MX Player which was set against the backdrop of unemployment in Bihar. It is inspired by a true story of a simple boy entering the world of crime after being cheated by his own friend.
In 2022, he directed Secrets of Love, a movie starring renowned Bollywood actor Ravi Kishan. The movie is based on incidents in the life of Osho. The movie is produced by Velji Gala and Ravi Kishan is playing the role of spiritual guru Osho. The movie was scheduled to release in 2021, but was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. [3]
Early Life
Ritesh S Kumar was born on 1st January 1985 and brought up in a middle-class family in a small village, Patner, in Lakhisarai district of Bihar, India.
After completing primary education, he moved from Lakhisarai to Patna where he was introduced to graphics as a student at Arena Institute. Ritesh moved to Mumbai after that and completed a course from Mac Maya Advance Institute, and started working as a DI colorist and VFX artist.
Awards
Ritesh S Kumar received the Best Director Award at the Indian Film Festival for the movie Mridang. [4]
