Rituparna Basu

Rituparna Basu is an American writer and professional speaker, who currently serves as an analyst at the Ayn Rand Institute, a non-profit organization in Irvine, California, that promotes the novels of Ayn Rand and her philosophy of Objectivism.

Education[edit]

Rituparna Basu studied from 2007 to 2010 at the Schreyer Honors College of Pennsylvania State University, graduating with distinction with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She was the President of the Penn State Objectivist Club.

She has native proficiency in Hindi, Bengali, and English.

Career[edit]

After having graduated from the Ayn Rand Institute's Objectivist Academic Center, Rituparna Basu joined the ARI as an analyst in January 2011, a position that she continues to hold.

Basu specializes in the application of Ayn Rand's ethics of rational egoism to public policy, in particular health-care policy and government regulations more generally.[1]

Basu has appeared often on television, such as on The Rick Amato Show on One America News Network,[2] Sun News Network,[3] and PJTV.[4][5] Also she has appeared on NPR radio,[1] and has written for Forbes.com,[6][7] The Daily Caller,[8][9] Townhall.com,[10] and the Pacific Research Institute.[11] She has given talks to university audiences, such as at the University of Toronto.[12]
