Musical style and influences[edit]

Some say it all started with a beat. .. The folks from Riversleem have a diverse and widespread collection of musical influences, many of which can not be heard in the direct musical output of Riversleem. Artists such as 100 Gecs, Billy Talent, Tame Impala, MyChildren MyBride, and Manafest are all noted influences for the act. These influences comes from a more primal place, a vibe, and not only highlight the ways in which dopamine is released from their bodies, but allude to small, yet important, connections that result in musical expression.

Lyrics and vocal delivery[edit]

It's all about catching a vibe, grab onto it and make it work baby.

Artwork[edit]

In mid-2020 long time friend and collaboratorDaniel Mason would start to dabble in the world of analogue photography, quickly shooting off rolls and rolls of film and sending off the scans to Zurevinski. It's here were the images Mason was capturing would begin to form the visual identity of the A Debut Release by Riversleem era and the band as a whole.

Criticism[edit]

"Stuart Little" Gate[edit]

Despite the overwhelming positive feedback of their debut EP, fans were quick to denounce lead singer, Kyle Zuevinski's vocal delivery. Feedback from one critic claimed that Zurevinski's singing resembled Stuart Little due to his intense shrieking and overall feral, animal like, vocal presence. Riversleem was quick to reply to these comments with the following: "As a band, we whole heartedly agree that voices should be amplified, regardless the breed. And we want our fans to know that we unapologetically support all vocal pitches."
