Robert "Rob" Rogers (born 1988) is a Canadian senior network architect, cybersecurity engineer, software developer, and technology entrepreneur based in Ontario. He is the co-creator of the Pre-Generated Conversational Matrix with Caching (PCM) artificial intelligence data architecture and co-founder of MMAP Labs.
Rogers was previously the Vice President and co-founder of Ontario High Speed Inc., President of Legendary I.T. Solutions Inc., and served as Lead Product Developer under John McAfee at MGT Capital Investments, where he co-architected the Sentinel deception platform. He holds an approved U.S. patent for long-range radio spectrum redistribution and a provisional patent for edge AI memory-mapping optimization.
Early Life and Education
Rogers was born in 1988 in Ontario, Canada. He attended Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario, graduating in 2009 with a three-year advanced degree in Computer Systems Technology. His academic focus centered on enterprise networking (Cisco CCNA/CCNP track), Unix/Linux systems administration, and C++/Python software development. He was later featured by the institution as a notable alumnus for his career in cybersecurity.[1]
Career
Broadband Operations and Wireless Infrastructure
In 2010, Rogers co-founded Ontario High Speed Inc., a rural fixed-wireless and fiber-backed Internet Service Provider (ISP) operating across the Durham Region in Ontario, Canada. As Vice President and Technical Lead, he architected the core Layer 3 network, constructed wireless communications towers, and implemented automated intrusion detection systems (IDS) operating on carrier-grade Cisco systems. The company's subscriber base was acquired by Vianet in 2017.
In 2018, Rogers co-founded Legendary I.T. Solutions Inc. in Oshawa, Ontario, serving as President. The firm provides enterprise network architecture, Industrial Control System (ICS/SCADA) telemetry modernization, Zero Trust Out-of-Band Management (OOBM), and defense-grade infrastructure hardening for commercial and manufacturing clients.
Cybersecurity and Work with John McAfee
From 2016 to 2017, Rogers served as Lead Product Developer and Principal Architect at MGT Capital Investments, reporting directly to cybersecurity pioneer John McAfee in Durham, North Carolina.
Alongside McAfee and security researcher Chris Roberts, Rogers led the development of Sentinel, a commercial "honeypot in a box" deception and intrusion detection system designed to track attacker dwell time and alert network administrators in real time. Rogers built the core platform using custom Debian Linux kernel builds, C userspace drivers, Freescale i.MX6 ARM hardware, and AppArmor process isolation profiles. During this period, he also developed E-Tagged, a wireless intrusion detection system (WIDS) prototype designed to detect and track unassociated 802.11 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and tire pressure monitoring sensor (TPMS) signals.
AI Engineering and MMAP Labs
In 2026, Rogers co-founded MMAP Labs alongside FreeBSD kernel developer and former Meta/Netflix engineer Adrian Chadd. The initiative focuses on edge Large Language Model (LLM) optimization, local AI execution, and dynamic game-engine artificial intelligence.
Through MMAP Labs, Rogers and Chadd developed the Pre-Generated Conversational Matrix with Caching (PCM). PCM is a read-optimized data architecture that uses POSIX kernel virtual memory paging (`mmap`) to fault-page pre-compiled binary knowledge blocks from disk directly into virtual memory. The technology allows 1B and 2B parameter open-weights models to access domain knowledge without traditional memory-bandwidth bottlenecks or live token-generation compute overhead.[2]
Rogers also developed Troubleshooter: Origin, a proof-of-concept game AI system integrated into Garry's Mod using Lua and local Llama 3 models, replacing traditional rigid dialogue trees with dynamic NPC interaction and adaptive combat set pieces.[3]
Patents and Innovations
- Multi-Endpoint Radio Spectrum Redistributor (Patent B2): Approved in December 2025. A system designed to extend cellular, FM radio, television, and emergency services signals into remote or subterranean environments over fiber-optic transport using optical splitters for bidirectional communication.[4]
- Pre-Generated Conversational Matrix with Caching (PCM) (Provisional Patent App. 64/105,371): Co-invented with Adrian Chadd. A data architecture and semantic caching system enabling low-latency, sovereign offline AI models through virtual memory pointer paging and pre-filtered semantic classification.[5]
