Early Life[edit]

Rob Scallon grew up in Chicago, Illinois.[5] He is said to have no formal education in music. Scallon stated that he just started playing the drums when he was either nine or ten, after he received a drum set for Christmas. From there he moved on to bass and then guitar. Scallon said he would use sites like Ultimate Guitar and Guitar pro, and as he went along his playing eventually got to the point that it is today. [6]

Instruments[edit]

Rob Scallons first guitar was either a knockoff Fender Stat or as he stated a"really really cheap Fender Squier" as he stated in one of his videos.[8]

Rob Scallon is know to own at least 45 instruments, which he showcases in his video "Every Instrument Song" [9]. Most of the instruments in the video are guitars but there is also a theremin, an electric cello, a fret-less bass, a two string bass, a banjo, multiple sized ukuleles, a harmonica, a hockey stick, a shovel and a cowbell[10].

Rob Scallon also is known to play the otamatone, as seen in his video 'Otamatone Metal' [11] and multiple other videos on his channel.

Scallon has two guitars that he designed with Chapman Guitars. Both guitars are wooden. One is a 6-stringed, and the other is an 8-stringed guitar [4]
