About Nivana Sithole

Nivana Sithole was born and raised in a small Shona-speaking town called Chegutu, which is 100km south of Harare, Zimbabwe. He did his education there, being raised in a strict, devout Methodist family. Growing up in the small town, Nivana developed an interest in leadership and advocacy, which drove him to campaign and be elected as the Junior Town Clerk for Chegutu Municipality’s Junior Council in 2019 at the age of 18. His involvement in child politics prepared him to adopt the idea of Pan-Africanism as a means for African prosperity. Before long, he moved to Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, in search of better opportunities in line with his advocacy for a better Africa. Growing up in the small town enabled Nivana Sithole to have the interests of the populace at heart. He began to use his influence to speak on mental health issues through artistic means and poetry. He became a member of the Ignite Youth Organization to amplify his advocacy for mental health. He went on to be featured in the Santiago Mostyn documentary film, "Language Against Identity," which touched on Pan-Africanism issues. Nivana Sithole has gone on to publish his anthology of poems on Pan-Africanism and Mental Health in his book "If Walls Could Talk."
