Radio presenter

Robbie Von (born Robbie Von Klitzing) is an Australian radio announcer, television personality, podcast host, and media contributor. He is best known as the co-host of the Robbie and Carly Show on Triple M WA, which broadcasts across regional Western Australia. Von has also appeared as a regular commentator on Channel 9's Weekend Today and served as a gameday MC for the Fremantle Dockers in the Australian Football League.[1]

Career

Von began his media career under the name Robert Klitzing, working across regional stations including Spirit Radio Broome and Hedland, Red FM, and WA FM statewide. He later transitioned to metropolitan radio, joining 6IX Perth and Hit929 Perth, before moving to Gold 104.3 Melbourne. He returned to Western Australia to work with Triple M Regional WA and the Hit WA Network, eventually becoming the Triple M WA Breakfast Announcer.[2]

In 2021, Von reinstated his family name and adopted the professional moniker Robbie Von.[3]

He is a recipient of an Australian Commercial Radio Award (ACRA) for his interview with David Guetta and has been nominated multiple times, including in the 2024 ACRA finalist list.[4][5] His interviews span a wide range of artists including Linkin Park, Sheryl Crow, Nickelback, James Blunt, and rapper 360.[6]

Von has also interviewed high-profile political figures, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Premier of Western Australia, with transcripts published by government media offices.[7][8]

Writing and Digital Media

Von has contributed opinion columns and entertainment features to PerthNow and The West Australian, including pieces on WA travel,[9] chicken parmigiana,[10] and themed weddings.[11]

He is a presenter on the "Have You Heard" (HUH) video series for PerthNow,[12] and produces daily social media content for TabTouch WA, including the Sport and Sweet video series.[13]

Von is also a co-host of the Punt Pals Podcast, a sports and racing podcast he prefers to be listed over other podcast appearances.

Public Engagement

Von is a key presenter in Racing and Wagering WA's Own the Dream program,[14] and has participated in mental health advocacy through Red FM and the Movember Tour.[15] He is frequently seen at public events and racing functions in Perth alongside his wife, Alana McLean.[16][17]
