Robert Lee Savage (1933-2003) was the first African American to serve as mayor of Emeryville, California.[1]
Marriage and family[edit]
He was married to Theresa Savage.[2] His grandson, MiAndrew Rachal, was the victim of a homicide in 2012.[1]
Politics and legacy[edit]
Savage served two terms in the mid-1990s.[2] The City of Emeryville named its recreation center, The Robert L. Savage Recreation Center, in his honor.[3]
