Robert Terell is an American Entrepreneur[1]. Visionary Leader and connector of multiple successful global business ventures[2]. He is a proud father of three, two boys and a daughter. He is an African American serial entrepreneur, Business Manager, financial strategist, author, and motivational speaker.

Early Life & Career[edit]

Terell was born in New York City to a single-parent mother; he began his career in the music business as an intern at Calliope studios in New York, NY. Robert is the co-manager of Gunplay's (MMG/DEF JAM). He has represented Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter Jackie's Boy (priority records), multi-platinum recording artist's- J Dub (Bad Boy records), Soul for Real, Silkk the Shocker (No Limit Records), AMIL (Rocafella records), and others. Robert also secured significant music licensing deal with music composer-producer Def Jef to get placement with BET on the Wayans Bros. Show “Next Generation Wayans,” which aired in 2013. Robert also secured a major label distribution deal for national recording artist Roma and reality TV series-Industry Certified Journey to the agreement with VH2 Television networks. Successfully launched RMG-Rocstar Music Group by securing a second major label distribution deal with Sony Music Group via the Orchard.

Learning from on-the-job training, he gained experience working with people like Kevin Maxwell at Tommy Boy Records and Will Sokolov, the part-owner of Sleeping Bag Records by Death Jam. As the Regional Vice President of the Southeast Market for Bungalow Records, Terell shifted into distribution with Universal Media Group[8]. Significant highlights of Rob’s career include landing Soul for Real, a multi-album deal worth 3 million dollars with Warner Brothers; renegotiating a deal for Nancy Denise[9] with the Oxygen Network for The Bad Girls Club; and managing Jackie’s Boy, a Grammy-winning artist.

Terell’s book, Broke and Famous: The Music Game... resonated heavily with readers, offering a guide for new artists to avoid the dangerous pitfalls of the industry. Rob is the CEO of several successful entities, including Wealth Nation, a consulting service providing its clients with business, branding, and negotiation advice. Musicnomics, another of Rob’s companies, is an online service offering solutions for financial support. In August of 2019, Rob Terell founded Industry Certified, a multi-media company providing unique content to a global audience.
