Roberto Balls Sallouti (São Paulo, February 26, 1972) is a Brazilian businessman, economist and philanthropist.[1] He is CEO of BTG Pactual and member of the boards of directors of BTG Pactual, MercadoLibre, Banco Pan and Febraban.[2][3] Sallouti has been with BTG Pactual since 1994 and assumed the executive presidency in 2015.[4] He holds a BA in Economics, specializing in Finance and Marketing from the Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania.[5]
Sallouti serves as the founding president of Instituto V5 and member of the advisory boards of Parceiros da Educação, BRASA, Wharton for Latin America, the São Paulo Museum of Art and Recode.[6] In partnership with other entrepreneurs, Sallouti was part of a project in Brazil to form an endowment fund and implement a new governance model which saved the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) from bankruptcy.[7][8][9]
During Sallouti's tenure as CEO, BTG Pactual launched a digital initiative in 2016, aimed at strengthening the institution's presence in the retail market.[10][11]
Even with the financial crisis in Brazil caused by the pandemic, Sallouti, a veteran of Brazil’s economy, believes the country is “going to finish the year much better than anybody ever expected, and growth is back.”[12][13]
