General[edit]

Roblox Arsenal is an active first-person shooter (FPS) video game, similar to Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Halo, Doom, etc. Arsenal is owned and developed by the ROLVe Community, and was officially released to the public in 2015[1]. The game has grown greatly in popularity science its release, reaching 1,000,000,000 global visits on June 12, 2020[2], being the first Roblox FPS game to reach this checkpoint. As of 2022, Arsenal is currently one of the best and well-known FPS games on the platform.

Arsenal consists of short rounds that typically last up to 4-6 minutes each, the round ends after any player reaches a specified number of eliminations. After each round, all players in the server will vote on the next game mode, team amount, and map. Arsenal usually maintains a live player count of around 20,000 players, and has been the primary source of content for many content creators on the Roblox Platform. The game is based on the "Arms Race" game mode from the popular video game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Gameplay[edit]

As said before, Arsenal works by a system of rounds that typically last 4-6 minutes each depending on the game mode (shorter or longer modes) which will be listed and described later.

A game (round) of Arsenal can consist of 13 different game modes accessible in public servers, these include Standard, Legacy Competitive, Railgun Royale, Concussion Mania, Pistols, Gun Rotation, Randomizer, Hard Mode, Insane Mode, Monkey Business, Odd Ball, Shotguns Only, and Automatics[3]. There are also 3 different team sizes as well, including 2 Teams, 4 Teams, and FFA (Free-for-all). And finally, 21 current maps including Sandtown, Agency, Safehouse, Dust II, Dizzy, Assault, Boulevard, Aircraft, Beach, Villa, Height Frights, Midtown, Tuscan, Township, Matrix, Duststorm, Costal, Hillside Revamp, Tropical, Lodgeworks, and Cold Corner 2[4] (some maps may be removed in the future).

Each round starts after a small, 5-second countdown timer reaches 0, the game mode is listed in the top of the players screen during this time, as well as a small description of the current game mode, all players of each team are anchored (stuck) to a random spawn point on the map, always in a location across from the opposite team's spwan point.

When the round starts, all players are un-anchored from their spawn and are able to move freely around the map. The goal of each player is to eliminate another player from the opposing team by shooting them with the firearm and meele given at the start of the round, the player must repeat this procces untill 16/33 eliminations (kills) are reached in order suceed in winning the round (rounds may differ depending on the game mode). When a player is eliminated, a "health jar", and an "amunition box" will appear where the player has been eliminated, the health jar will regenerate a players health when in contact with a player, an amunation box will reset (refill) the player's ammo, it functions identically to a helath jar.

A round ends after any player reaches the specified number of eliminations to win the round. After this happens, all players are unable to use their firearms or meele, but still have the ability to wander around the map. Shortly, players will be given the option to vote on the next game mode, team amount, and map to be used in next game, only three of the total maps and the total game modes are randomly selected by the game's code for the players to vote on. After voting is finished, all players are removed from the game and placed into their home menu.

In the home menu, there is a "Play" option. If clicked after a new round is ready, the player will be able to select an availible team (Red, Blue/Green, Yellow, Red, Blue). In order to even the player count all teams, the ability for a player to join the team with a greater player count than other teams/team will be disabled, leaving only the other team/teams available. After the player has joined a team, they will be placed into a spawn with the rest of their alies (teamates), and the process will repeat.
