RoboCop Returns (aka RoboCop 5) is an upcoming film that will be a direct sequel to the 1987 original film RoboCop directed by Abe Forsythe. It will remain part of the RoboCop franchise, as its 5th entry, but ignore all other properties in the franchise other than the original entry. It will ignore the 2014 4th entry reboot film RoboCop, as well as ignoring RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3. The new 5th film will be a political science fiction action drama film, as the original was. The film will adapt the unused sequel script written by the original RoboCop scriptwriter Ed Neumeier that was not used on RoboCop 2.
