Rocket Science is an international film and television sales, finance, distribution and other related business company based in London, United Kingdom[1]. The company is founded by film executive Thorsten Schumacher in 2016[2][3][4][5].

History[edit]

The company was founded in 2016 by Thorsten Schumacher based in London.[1][6]. In November 2016, Rocket Science became part of the American Film Market for the first time, selling the international rights of its movies The Old Man and The Gun and On Chesil Beach to Searchlight Pictures (US) and Lionsgate UK respectively[7] and in 2018 Rocket Science produced its first film, Juliet, Naked[7]. In 2019 Rocket Science entered into a joint venture with Middle East distributor and producer Front Row Filmed Entertainment to form Yalla Yalla, a Dubai-based film and television company focused on Arabic-language entertainment[8]. In September 2020 Rocket Science signed a deal to sell international rights to films from Asbury Park Pictures, a joint venture between Thunder Road Pictures and Redbox[9].
