Rockfish Gap is an independent narrative podcast created by students from Falls Church, Virginia.[1] Taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the story follows journalist, Jessica Matthews, as she investigates the mysterious disappearance of four high school seniors near Rockfish Gap, in Shenandoah National Park. The show was featured on Apple Podcast New & Noteworthy and rose to the top of the Apple Charts, reaching nearly one hundred thousand downloads in its first week.[2][3] The series is written, directed and produced by Colter Adams, Charlie Adams, and Andrew Chi Nguyen.
Background[edit]
Brothers Colter and Charlie Adams conceptualized the idea for the show after their high school closed due to the pandemic. Shortly after, they recruited fellow classmate Andrew Chi Nguyen, a local independent filmmaker to help write and produce the podcast.[1][3][4] Fellow classmates of Nguyen Daisy Forbes, Dolly Lebow, and Katya Shakula were also recruited soon after to assist with marketing and art for the show.[1][2] All music for the show was produced by show creator Colter Adams. The show is noted for its young cast and production team, and reminiscence of the Golden Age of Radio.[1][2][3][4][5]
