Rocky is a fictional and primary protagonist character in Prashanth Neel's K.G.F: Chapter 1 and K.G.F: Chapter 2. He is portrayed by Yash in both the films.
Rocky oversees the Gold mafia in Mumbai. His dream of acquiring power in Mumbai region leads him to a mission to Kolar Gold Fields.
Early years[edit]
Rocky was born in 1951 at Bairya a town in Mysuru district of Karnataka the same day of founding of Kolar Gold Fields. Rocky was raised in poverty by his mother Shanthamma. Shanthamma was hit by cancer. And she takes a promise from Rocky before her death. This leads his journey towards Mumbai.
At Mumbai[edit]
Rocky after moving to Mumbai starts to work as a boot polisher under Khasim who is an aide of the Don, Shetty. A Police Officer confronts some of Shetty's men. Hence for revenge Khasim asks to slam the Officer for which Rocky surprisingly agrees. After hitting the police officer he becomes more famous among the Dons. He starts to work for Shetty.
After growing up Rocky is a famous name in the Mumbai mafia. Rocky is the sole overseer of the Gold which were arriving at the Mumbai port. Rocky gets an offer to kill Garuda the owner of Kolar Gold Fields by Andrews. And in return he will be given the power of whole Mumbai area. Rocky agrees and plans to kill Garuda in Bangalore. He fails in the attempt. Now he plans to kill Garuda in Kolar Gold Fields.
At KGF[edit]
Rocky moved to Kolar Gold Fields as a slave. He works in the Narachi Mines and strategizes the plan to assassinate Garuda. He finally decided to kill Garuda on the day of Maari Jaatre, a religious festival. He hides as one of the prisoners of Garuda and kills him.

Characterization[edit]
Rocky's character was inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's Sholay.[1] It had also inspiration from action movies and western movies[2] like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and For a Few Dollars More.[3]
Reception[edit]
Janani K of India Today said that "You take a look at him and instantly you know that this guy will do the impossible and pull people out of their misery."[4] Sunaina Suresh of Times of India said that "The growth of Rocky is shown steadily and the makers kept a clever story telling pattern right through, that keeps pace with the narrative." And further added that "The first chapter shows Rocky as the maverick mastermind who will stop at nothing in order to achieve his mission."[5] Troy Ribeiro of News 18 said that "Rocky is the new Superhero in the town."[6]
