Roderick Heelis, Ph.D. is a distinguished research chair at The University of Texas at Dallas and the director of the William B. Hanson Center for Space Sciences.[1] He was also the Principal investigator for the CINDI project sponsored by NASA[2] and inventor of the CINDI instrument system.[3] Heelis was also the instrument lead for the production of the Ion Velocity Meter (IVM) for the Ionospheric Connection Explorer (ICON).[4]
